“Did you know that God is on a quest? He's not looking for knowledge or searching for riches. He already has those things. God is on a quest for you--He's searching for every man and woman who has a heart for Him. He's pursuing an intimate relationship with you and with me.” (Woodrow Kroll)
Ever get the feeling that God is trying to tell you something? I’m getting that feeling right now because this is the 3rd time in less that two weeks that God has spoken the same thing to me.
The first time I was in church in another state and the worship leader sang the words to 2 Chronicles 16:9…. “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him...” The following week in church Pastor Mike quoted the exact same scripture and then today in an e-newsletter came the above quote.
The message is clear. God is looking, searching the whole earth for those who have a heart to go further in Him than they every have before; those who are longing for greater intimacy with the Almighty.
Personally, I fee like the Lord is pursuing me, the object of His love. It’s as though He’s been wooing me in hopes that I will choose Him above everything else that is vying for first place in my heart. It’s not just me, though. Everywhere I go I meet people who are hungering for God like never before. All across the Body of Christ the talk is the same, people want God – not religion or church, but God Himself.
We are in an optimal position here because at the same time we are longing, God is searching. The scripture says His eyes search to and fro throughout the whole earth looking for the ones whose hearts are toward Him; who are longing for greater intimacy with Him.
Will you dare to let go of everything that’s been holding you back and dive in to greater intimacy with the Father? Isn’t it time for you to take a step toward the place where your longing meets God’s searching? If you’ve been getting the feeling lately that God is trying to tell you something – it’s because He is.
