I'm Isunji and I've been writing since I was about 8 years old. My love for writing started with a 3rd grade assignment to write an original story. My story, The Trip To Mars, was a hit with my class, and from that moment a writer was born. I'm happiest, most expressive, most creative, most content, most me when I'm writing.
I'm the author of Faith Lifts: 31 Daily Boosts for Sagging Faith which was published in February 2013 and is available for purchase in paperback or ebook format at Booklocker.com, BarnesandNoble.com and Amazon.com. Faith Lifts is a 31-day devotional designed to encourage, inspire, entertain, and, most importantly, to refresh the weary spirit.
I am an alumni of the Hurston-Wright Foundation's Writer's Week - class of 2003; a highly competitive workshop where African American writers are instructed about the process and the business of writing while being nurtured and mentored by professional writers. The workshop was unlike anything I have experienced in my writing life. I was affirmed by the authors whose books I read and it confirmed to me that writing is what I'm meant to do.
In 2009, after a VERY long hiatus, I went back to school, and in 2012 I got a Bachelor's degree in English. I maintained a blog for six years called The "Quiet" One, which eventually morphed into this one which is still very much a work in progress. I am currently working on second book and a novel, so check for updates on these projects or for a dose of encouragement and humor.
Again, thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!
